Did you know this farm's been part of the Franklin community for over 165 years? Wow! Whether you’re exploring the pumpkin patches in the fall, getting lost in corn mazes, or simply enjoying a peaceful hayride, it’s a place where you can really soak in the traditions of farm life. Harlinsdale Farm: A Historical Playground 🚶‍♀️

Next, we have Harlinsdale Farm. Imagine 200 acres of history combined with beautiful trails, picnic spots, and a picturesque lake. It's not just a walk in the park—literally—this place has deep roots in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry and even features the only public arena polo facility in Tennessee. So, if you’re in town on July 26, catch the State Challenge Cup for a super fun Battle of the Bourbons (Tennessee vs. Kentucky) or the International Cup on August 16!

For History Buffs: Three Must-Visit Locations 🕰️

Franklin is a paradise for history lovers, especially with its Civil War ties. Here are three sites that blend outdoor fun with a journey back in time:

  1. The Carter House: Step into a house built in 1830 that was the heart of the Battle of Franklin. The bullet holes in the walls? They’re a chilling reminder of the past.
  2. Carnton Plantation: Another Civil War staple, this site was a field hospital and now offers tours that evoke the period vividly. You’ll see everything from bloodstains on the floors to historic artifacts that make history come alive.
  3. The Lotz House: Right across from the Carter House, this charming home turned hospital during the Civil War is filled with original furnishings and tells a uniquely personal story of resilience.

For a more modern twist, visit The Factory at Franklin. Originally a stove manufacturing plant dating back to 1929, it's now a bustling hub of shops, eateries, and entertainment. Whether you’re browsing artisan goods, enjoying live music, or joining an interactive workshop, it’s the perfect spot for a family day out. Make sure you schedule your visit around one of their frequent farmers markets or seasonal events for even more fun!
