Exactly 12 months ago today, Jeff took me out for a fancy date night at a lovely place in Brentwood, TN called Mere Bulles. It's one of those special occasion restaurants, but silly me thought he was treating us to an extra nice dinner for the heck of it. Little did I know we'd be engaged before our entrees even arrived! 😂

We started the day like any other. Chloe and I took a chilly walk around our neighborhood. We ran a few errands and helped my parents with a few things at their place. Then it was time to get ready for date night!! Going somewhere as fancy as Mere Bulles called for a new dress, so thankfully I had one on hand.👗

I'm not going to cover all the details of our dinner conversation, but I'll never forget him pulling the box from his coat pocket and telling me he didn't want to cause a scene, then asked me if I'd marry him.😮

We hadn't even ordered our food yet!🥰

Obviously, I said yes. We spent all of dinner talking about our future and quietly celebrating our news. It was exciting and fun to be the only ones holding onto our secret for a few hours.

The rest of our evening was spent over champagne and dessert at Stateside Kitchen in Nashville. It was a perfect proposal!

And the following few days were a whirlwind of excitement that included a family trip to the Nashville Zoo.

Just a few months later, we got married. It's hard to believe our one-year wedding anniversary is coming up in May.👰 Can't wait to share those details with you then.
