They say the days are long, but the years are short. That definitely sums up my journey of the last decade. I have a lot to unpack from the last 6-7 years of life that’s happened since my last blog post. We won’t be unpacking it all here today. This is just a note to bring you from point A to point B and ultimately share with you the inspiration behind my Secret Mom Hacks podcast and why I’m back to blogging.
If you look through the archives, you’ll find lots of posts from the last 10+ years about hair, skincare, virtual franchises, freelancing, optimism, goal-setting, and more.
These are all topics I still enjoy, however, in the summer of 2018 my precious daughter was born. Becoming a mom turned my world upside down in the BEST possible way. Her birth led me to my true calling…becoming the present, caring, engaged, loving mom my child deserves.
In the coming weeks/months/years I’ll be sharing some of the most impactful things I’ve uncovered in motherhood so far. From maternity clothes and breastfeeding to toys, toddler learning resources, freezer meal prepping, and much more…there’s A LOT for us to discuss!
A few other life updates…
When my daughter was only 6-months-old, I received a phone call at work that hit me like a ton of bricks. After almost nine years of marriage, I learned my (now ex-) husband was living a secret life. I won’t go into all the details at this juncture, but thankfully the divorce was speedy.
Shortly after, I jumped into the dating world - which is NOT for the faint of heart, especially when you’re the single mom of a toddler who was deeply betrayed by your former spouse. As difficult as divorce is, the silver lining is that you now know WANTS and DON’T WANTS in a partner. I’m excited to share more about this part of my story in a future post, but all I’ll say for now is…God bless the broken road that led me straight to Jeff! I thought my life was falling apart, but my mom wisely pointed out that sometimes things need to fall apart so they can fall into place. After two years of dating, we were engaged early 2022 and married in May 2022.
Those are some of the highlights from the last near decade. I'm excited to be back and active in the blogosphere and can't wait to hear how you're doing. More to come, friend! ❤
